‘West Australian’ cuts book coverage

The West Australian newspaper will cut its Tuesday-edition book coverage by 50%, reducing the double-page spread to a single page.

In a statement, writingWA said it was ‘dismayed’ to learn about the decision to reduce space for book coverage. As a consequence, writingWA’s monthly column of local book reviews published in the West Australian will be reduced from six to four reviews.

The paper plans to include book coverage on other days to make up for the cuts to the Tuesday edition.

The West Australian, which is owned by Seven West Media, also runs one page of book coverage in its weekend magazine.
