Inaugural History Writers’ Festival to be held this weekend

The inaugural History Writers’ Festival will be held at Readers’ Feast Bookstore in Melbourne this weekend, the 18-19 April.

Interviews with authors and panel discussions will be held every two hours on each day, with a particular focus on military history, to coincide with the Anzac centenary. Authors include Steven Carroll, Clare Wright, Peter Edwards, Marcus Fielding, Tim Fischer, Robert Gott, Jenny Hocking, Ross McMullin, Peter Rees, Julianne Schultz and Adrian Threlfall.

Festival director Simon Clews said in a statement: ‘Over the years I have been running festivals and literary events, a high level of interest in writing on history has been a consistent factor amongst Melbourne’s readers. It just seems logical to give this growing audience their own event.’
