Penguin offers free extracts for London Underground passengers

Penguin is offering London Underground passengers free extracts of new books and author interviews during August as part of the publisher’s 80th birthday celebrations, reports marketing news website the Drum. The publisher has collaborated with Transport for London (TfL) and Virgin Media’s WiFi service to create the mobile-first site Summer of Penguin, which offers passengers a daily choice of stories to read or listen to during their journey. Penguin Random House UK’s group director of consumer and digital development Hannah Telfer said the collaboration will allow the publisher to reach new audiences, and will celebrate ‘the writing and ideas that have shaped Penguin over the past eighty years, as well as the incredible talent that we publish now as part of Penguin Random House’.
